Visual Identity Muhka
The project that never saw the daylight...
Logo and visual identity development for Museum Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen. The logo and identity work is inspired by the ground breaking art of Gordon Matta-Clark. The collection of his works from the Foundation Gordon Matta-Clark embark the start of what is knows today as M HKA.
The original briefing stated "Let the work be wild and experimental, don't hold back". After a good year of developing the materials, going through rounds of presentations with management, getting sign-offs to move on to the next phases, and being this close (imagine a thumb and finger with a small space between them while I pinch my eyes) to launch the identity, it turned out that the Board of Directors were never involved in the process and that they disagreed with the original briefing. This disagreement turned out to be the end of the project, which still hurts a little till this day...
