Ying Gao

A Folio, send­-out piece that showcases the work of a fashion designer, Ying Gao. Her work mostly deals with organic materials that playfully explored the aesthetic and interface of typical fashion garments — to translate that in the folio, I worked with the initial process of folding and origami. It was too systematic in contrast to her craft so folding without rules or instructions led to the final direction. The whole piece becomes visually interactive with the translucent cover distorting her name and the act of opening the folio.
