229 is a historic Arts and Craft style home built overlooking Lake Ontario in 1882. It originally functioned as a family and Quaker meeting house before, in more recent years, becoming a bed & breakfast. As a member of the team at STACKLAB, we were responsible for renovating the existing building as well as making choice additions that would not detract from the heritage qualities of the home. The completed project has been featured in Canadian House & Home, Mansion Global, and Designlines magazines. Specific details that were custom designed for the project have been featured on Elle Decor and Dering Hall.
I assisted the lead designer as a Junior Designer, preparing working drawings to deliver to site and fabricators, preparing and presenting client presentation documents, and executing various project management tasks. I was present at numerous site visits and meetings with contractors in order to collaborate with all members of the construction and design team to better fulfill the client's expectations.
I designed a couple fixtures/pieces of furniture for the kitchen, taking them from concept to discussion and approval with the client, and then working with the fabricators for final production.
