We produced several rounds of these mixed media spots on which I was the Agency Producer for The Martin Agency throughout. We basically made memes before there was such a thing. We had so much fun figuring these out - the scripts would constantly change depending on availability of footage that had to be cleared with celebrities or brands (yes, Spielberg said yes to us using the Jaws clip, as did all the other celebs either featured or mentioned). Stephen Tobolowsky was the voice-over on all of the spots and was pleased to give his ok on the Groundhog Day clip too. Whatever footage was not found or cleared, we shot or animated ourselves on the go. We had great production partners in Gentlemen Scholar and 1st Ave Machine, with Whitehouse killing it in the edit and Big Foote Music & Jeremy Turner exploring original music for each spot. It was almost like being back in film school, but with a better budget. A strong relationship with the talent department at The Martin Agency was key here, who were on speed dial during these productions.
