One of the more involving freelance projects I’ve done was for a local family owned interior design company who had been around for many years but wanted to re-brand themselves with a more modern approach, while also bringing their design side and construction side together into one business. In addition to a logo, they also needed their business system updated to have something to go on shirts, sweaters, and signage in their new building. To understand their needs we met a few times to discuss the directions they wanted to go in. They wanted something dimensional but much more subtle than their previous logo mark which was bright yellow and made up of half-tone patterns. My solution was a logo with clean lines and a sans-serif font that helped visually represent the high-quality aesthetic of their interior designers' work.
