AT&T - It's Not Complicated
I ran AT&T wireless for BBDO NY. One day our AT&T friends called—they were very concerned about the new competitive ads that Verizon was running. They wanted a response campaign that simply spoke about the size and speed of the AT&T network. Earlier that year we had developed a NCAA campaign with Beck Bennet from SNL, which did very well and left us wishing we could do more work with him. So we thought, "Let's use Beck and his crazy talent for connecting with kids to talk about why AT&T is simply better." It worked. And AT&T ran the campaign for the next 2 years.
