The Fence

Before Donald Trump, before the state we are in, I was fascinated with fences as a means of dividing land and property. I was curious about the historical practice of fences and at what point in civilization they became common. I also was curious about the symbolic meaning of fences and the role they play on the psyche. This book is an essay I wrote to accompany those posed questions in relation to the art world and what is now the unfortunate political climate of our time.
