I was previously a member of the Human Interface Device (HID) Prototyping Group at Apple. HID Prototyping is a small exploratory design team of hybrid designers/developers. This team explores what new technologies might bring to current and future Apple products. As a member of the team, it was my job to invent and propose new features and sometimes entirely new products.
Most teams at Apple are dedicated to the next version of a product that will be released in six months to a year. I worked outside that cycle, across all products, to create new things that might take longer or require deeper exploration.
While many of the projects I worked on during my time at Apple are confidential because they are unreleased, some released products and features I prototyped for include:
iPhone X - navigation gestures
Wireless Charging
Features in iOS 10 Messages update
