I was lead writer on this film, which garnered a lot of attention on social media and on the news. Given that race is probably the most sensitive topic in the US, we knew that a film coming from a brand had to be tactful, responsible and authentic. The film was covered by the NBC Nightly News, the CBS Evening News, The Washington Post and many other major new outlets. In the end, it did exactly what it needed to: it sparked a much-needed discussion about racial bias in a deeply divided country.
