As Digital Creative Director, I had the honor of leading our team from the initial concept pitch through the complete overhaul of the Academy’s existing digital presence to reach a modern audience of socially savvy fans. For the first time ever, the new Oscars.org opens the Academy's impressive archive to fans, allowing them to share its content via social media, contribute to its collections and immerse themselves in over 86 Years of Oscar moments and film industry collections, all curated by a custom CMS Drupal platform. The modernized, mobile-first hub also gives fans real time access to the event itself, giving the Oscars a cutting-edge, but all-inclusive platform where fans are just as invested in the state of the industry as their favorite nominees. Ultimately, Oscars.org places itself firmly at the intersection between classic cinema legacy and modern social and digital media, letting fans become active participants in their love of the world of cinema.
