Italians Do It Better

Fan publication featuring Portland/Los Angeles-based record label. Italians Do It Better fuses a sleek, 1980s visual aesthetic with their synth-pop, post-punk and Italo-disco revival musical style. The label was started by Johnny Jewel and Mike Simonetti in 2006 to focus on Jewel's projects Glass Candy and Chromatics and later Desire, Symmetry and Mirage, in addition to other artists from prior releases. Over the years, the label has published countless photo essays, illustrations, promotional photos of products, in addition to album cover art. The intent of this publication is to collectively bring together this body of work in a printed volume, in order to pay homage and bring much-deserved attention to the label's aesthetic sensibilities.
