The Great Paper Airplane Project

The Pima Air & Space Museum wanted to get more and younger visitors to their amazing collection of aircraft. So we built the world's largest paper airplane. And flew it. We won Cannes Lions and set World Records for the largest paper airplane (45 feet long) and the highest altitude (2,700 feet above the Arizona desert). We held a paper airplane "Fly-Off" for kids ahead of time, and got the greatest paper plane thrower of all time (seriously), Ken Blackburn, to host it. The winner of the Fly-Off got to name the giant plane and help us build it. And we did it all on a shoestring budget, given the museum is, well, a museum. In one month, we got over 123 million media impressions including 225 unique news outlets in at least 12 countries and over 1 million views on YouTube, all for zero media dollars.
