Arguably, the Bauhaus’s most significant influence came not during its years of operation, but after its closing, as the bulk of its members were forced to flee Germany and settle elsewhere. Rather than charting the history of the school during its brief lifespan, this infographic traces its members’ journeys, with particular emphasis on the pedagogical dissemination of Modernism to many key artistic figures of the 20th Century.
Designed on a grid and set in period-correct Akzidenz Grotesk, this work seeks to invoke the Bauhaus’s equal commitment to rationality and playfulness.
