The Oreo Dunk Challenge was launched this 2017, in an effort to get the entire world dunking milk's favorite cookie. With the help of Shaquille O'Neal, Neymar Santos & Christina Aguilera, Oreo launched a multi-faceted campaign that spread across TV, web, social media, and mobile. For The Space Dunk, we partnered with Google Zoo to create a mobile app that recognized your location and allowed you to dunk an Oreo cookie around the world. All you needed was a real Oreo cookie to scan. After tossing it up into space, people were able to watch their cookie straddle our stratosphere and land (or dunk) in a glass of milk across the globe. For more awareness, Oreo held an event at Chelsea Market, NYC to kick off The Hands-Free Dunk, where real New Yorkers were given the opportunity to go head-to-head with Shaq and dunk Oreo cookies with their minds. We also created Snapchat ads featuring Shaq, encouraging people to come participate in the challenge. In addition to this, we also created a series of online videos that inspired people around the world to dunk differently.
