Last Chance is a self-produced gallery show my team and I opened on May 19, Endangered Species Day. There are four species projected to be extinct by the end of 2017 due to consumer demand of the animal products for fashion, beauty, and home decor items. The species include the Black Rhino, the Sumatran Tiger, the Long-Tailed Pangolin, and the Amur Leopard. Neon is a familiar symbol of consumerism often grabbing our attention to open stores, flash sales, and deals that will be gone tomorrow. With the hope of saving these species, we used the power of neon to raise awareness and encourage conscious consumerism. A portion of proceeds went to the Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator (BF+DA), a hub for ethical and sustainable fashion resources. Neon Artists: James Akers, Kacie Lees, Stephanie Lifshitz, Keenan MacWilliam Photographer: Travis Emery Hackett Director/Editor: Kyle McMorrow Producers: Rachel Newell & Jade White
